Founded in 1869 by John Vaughan, the company has grown to a size that he could never have imagined. The Vaughan family has been committed to producing hand tools that proudly state “Made in the USA”.

With the growth, have come new manufacturing techniques and changes in technology that have transformed Vaughan from a small maker of hand tools to a company that manufactures hundreds of styles and sizes of striking tools, many with features that have become industry standards.

Vaughan is best known for it’s range of hammers and bars which are considered to be best in class. Many hammer and bar designs we see today originated from Vaughan.
